-to promote, nationally and internationally, the distinctive character of UK specialist arts and performance institutions in their delivery of Higher Education provision for the creative and cultural industries;
-to extend the range of influence of specialist colleges with key decision makers and stakeholders;
-to strengthen opportunities for networking and partnership work within the network, and between members and other organisations operating in the arts, performance and elsewhere in the creative and cultural industries;
-to provide a structure for the promotion and delivery of the widening participation agenda in Higher Education arts and performance and encourage mobility into the professions serving the creative and cultural industries.
-to fulfil an advocacy role in promoting the role and outputs of UK publicly funded arts educational institutions working with the creative, cultural and communications industries nationally and internationally;
-to provide mechanisms, advice and good practice exchange for the purpose of widening participation in arts and performance higher education provision, and to ensure a more diverse workforce for the creative, cultural and communications industries;
-to provide a platform to share good practice in academic development, strategic management and governance for specialist arts institutions;
-to provide professional advice and research to the creative, cultural and communication industries;
-to add value to individual members’ participation in the development and delivery of key national creative, cultural and communications industry strategies;
-to raise the profile of the specialist institutions in higher education for the creative, cultural and communications industries nationally through agreed strategies for targeting key opinion formers.
