Diploma in Creative & Media

The Diploma is offered by Consortia of Schools and FE Colleges with input from employers and Higher Education. It is designed to include practical skills development, academic study and a work-based component. There are ways to take additional and specialist study that can stretch and challenge individual students and their areas of interest as well as aligning to the higher education courses a student wants to aim for. The Diploma covers four components –
 

  1. Creativity in context: The things that can influence the creative process, such as society, culture, the   environment or the work of other people
  2. Thinking and working creatively: Ways of exploring, experimenting with and developing ideas, skills and techniques
  3. Principles, processes and practice: The skills, techniques and processes to turn your ideas into reality
  4. Creative businesses and enterprise: An understanding of real situations and the skills that you need to succeed in the industry

There are 24 key discipline areas associated with the Diploma in Creative and Media. Students can combine two or more disciplines, depending on individual interest.
