ukadia welcomes the 14-19 Diploma as a way to increase opportunities for applicants from a broader mix of backgrounds and educational experiences to progress into careers which will suit them and to progress to higher education.

We support the aims of the Diploma in applying both practical skills and academic learning and tailoring the curriculum to the needs of the student; in a way which stretches the high achiever and stimulates all students.

The Diploma in Creative and Media will be particularly significant for admissions to courses in our specialist institutions. Most creative and media courses rely on consideration of material evidence produced by the student during their pre-HE courses and so it will be especially important for students undertaking the advanced work in the Diploma to ensure the practical work they produce can be part of the material - portfolios, audition tapes, texts, CDs, etc. that admissions tutors will expect to consider as part of the admissions process.
