Skillset

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Creative Media.

Skillset provides careers advice and resources to those working in, or interested in joining, the following industries: Falmouth animation

  • Facilities
  • Film
  • Interactive Media
  • Other content creation
  • Photo Imaging
  • Publishing
  • Radio
  • Television

Skillset works with the government, higher and further education as well as industry to support the productivity and success of these significant sectors of the UK economy. Their main functions are to

  • offer careers advice
  • provide funding opportunities for training and skills development
  • work with key contacts in industry and education
  • publish research and strategic policy documents

Skillset's Academy Networks, the Skillset Media Academies and the Skillset Screen Academies, are made up of institutions working to ensure that the UK has the most talented workforce in the world for film, television and interactive media.

Skillset is the lead developer for the Diploma in Creative and Media for 14-19 year olds and works with a range of school consortia to deliver this innovative qualification.
