
This year's event held on Wednesday 8 February 2012 at the British Library Conference Centre, London will focus on the opportunities offered by the changing landscape in education policy and funding, notwithstanding the challenges that are ahead.

Conference dinner: Tuesday 7 February 2012 at the British Library (sponsored by University of the Arts London’s Awarding Body).
We are delighted that Josie Long who has set up the charity the Arts Emergency Service, will be giving the after-dinner speech.
The comedian, who was nominated for the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Comedy Award, will be launching her new charity in 2012. It aims to support students from unprivileged backgrounds by offering mentoring and funding, campaign against tuition fees and promote arts and humanities degrees as valuable as an end in themselves rather than a route to employment.
Timings for the event are as follows:
18:30 Drinks reception
19:15 Guests seated for dinner
21:30 After dinner speech
There will be a 'cash' bar available to delegates from 10-11pm.
Synopsis:
> How can the sector contribute to shaping the future of creative education across the spectrum from schools to Higher Education?
> What can the specialist arts HE & FE sector take from the current reviews of cultural and creative policy?
> How do we continue to strengthen connections between Secondary, Further and Higher education in a way that provides a natural progression for students, nurturing their creative potential and supporting their journey to employment within the Creative Industries?
Who should attend?: Building on the success of previous conferences, this event aims to be a forum for discussion for over a hundred senior managers and practitioners from across the specialist arts education sector. Come and join the debate.
