Delegates voiced a general concern and unhappiness that major changes to school curriculum for arts subjects will lead to reduced arts input in schools and consequent diminution in cultural provision across the board, including take up of arts education at University level. There was a keen interest in how the recent National Curriculum Review will be heeded, given the positive response it gives to the role of arts in the school curriculum.
