Responsive Curriculum: FE:HE Dialogue

Kate Hill – Progression Manager at London College of Fashion
Neil Powell – Director of Studies at Norwich University College of the Arts
Suzannah Graves – Cambridge Regional College

FE:HE dialogue around the curriculum has been highlighted nationally in policy development discussions as key to the sustainability and success of progression focused work. Building on work piloted last year all NALN members are developing FE:HE dialogue events to embed dialogue about FE and HE curricula into the progression agreements.

Kate Hill, the Progression Manager at the London College of Fashion will talk about the approach they took to FE:HE dialogue this year. FE engagement activities from previous years focused on how to prepare FE students for the interview and HE and tended to be more about HE giving advice and guidance to FE. This event was facilitated to encourage a more equal dialogue.

Neil Powell, Director of Studies at Norwich University College of the Arts will discuss the strategic and operational challenges and dynamics of setting up sustainable progression agreements. This will include practical advice on FE:HE dialogue as a mutually beneficial Continuing Professional Development activity.

Colleagues from both FE and HE will contribute to this workshop and facilitate a discussion about the role of FE:HE dialogue and how to develop and embed this work.
