Although many in art and design education are already engaging with global climate change in some form or other, it is generally the case that the sector is still grappling with how best to develop and implement environmental sustainability at the level of curriculum design and delivery.
The purpose of this workshop, therefore, was to informally explore how these sustainability issues can be embedded within learning programmes, outcomes and assessment, and converted into the reduction of carbon footprints within specific practices. The workshop brought up intial ideas for generic frameworks to orientate and facilitate subject specific initiatives and shared in ways that can be appropriated and adapted by individual subject areas as necessary.
