Curriculum Development for HE receiving courses

The project aimed to support progression to and achievement on degree level courses for learners from non-traditional routes through developing the HE curriculum.

The project provided funding for some of the early stages of Preparation for HE course development and associated research. Reports on the HE Preparatory courses are to be found with the Bridging project.

Other aspects of the HE Curriculum project included:

• UCA Student-Centred Collaborative Learning Group Pilot with First Year BA (Hons) Fine Art.

The pilot aimed to explore how independent learning can be effectively and innovatively ‘taught’ to first year students through a collaborative learning model and to evaluate how effectively the Student-centred Collaborative Learning Group (SCLG) could improve social and academic integration.

The project report by Dr. Karen Scopa and Sarah Sutherland can be found here: StudentCentredCollaborativeLearningReport

• The piloting of a virtual learning environment based around a wiki, which was intended to be student controlled, and, ultimately, student authored and also an examination of various aspects of the first year BA curriculum.

The project was managed by University for the Creative Arts.
